As a cleaning service provider, we are all too aware of the dangers involved with using chemicals. We always err on the side of safety to protect our clients, their pets, their plants, and our environment. We always go with the safest, most effective cleaning substances available. Other industries should do the same.

Agreed, but really, what chemicals are unsafe in window cleaning? Commercial window cleaningwith a waterfed pole is a whole other ballgame. I believe they are talking about residential window cleaning (as an example). Even in residential, I dont think there is any dangerous chemicals unless there is hard water stain removal being used, and even that is minimal, and rinsed after the chemical is used. It is not even enough to damage plant life. I dont want to discount your post sir, but in 3 sentences all you have managed to do was say that other industries should follow your lead when really, our industry does not use harsh chemicals.
Lets take a manufacturing company for instance. Many will use chemicals such as butane for one. How about something as seemingly harmless such as airfresheners? Here is a report on what some manufacturing companies will put in them.
There are chemicals all around us and in just about every facet of our lives. In our niche, we clean windows professionally, yes, and we do consider ourselves as "green" or environmentally friendly. But just because we dont use chemicals to do what we do, does that make us green, really?
What about the carbon-fiber poles we use, or fiberglass, or annodized aluminum poles? Do you know the process that is used to create those poles?
What about the plastic handles for our squeegees? Any chemicals that are harmful in the creation or forming of that? How about agriculture. Pesticides are important to keep us from having food shortages. Cyanide was used for mining gold for a long time, and is now used for many other uses.
In my opinion, which may not be correct, is that the only way to reduce harmful chemicals and substances, would be to change the whole world. Sure,as we know more about the harmful effects that harmful chemicals cause, most countries will regulate the use of them...usually only after the damage is done.
Only my opinion.
With respect,
Salvatore Marino

Rather then using chemicals that might be safe. Cleaning windows with pure water with a wfp system is the best choice for not using harmful chemicals.
