The US Department of Health and Human Services Has Listed All Substance Abuse Treatment Programs in the USA

SAMHSA: Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the US Health and Human Services Administration has established a database of all substance abuse facilities in the USA.

The Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator lists:

  • Private and public facilities that are licensed, certified, or otherwise approved for inclusion by their State substance abuse agency
  • Treatment facilities administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Indian Health Service and the Department of Defense

The following options are listed:

  • Primary Focus of Provider
  • Services (e.g. treatment, detoxification, methadone maintenance, etc.)
  • Type of Care (e.g. hospital inpatient, outpatient, partial, day treatment, etc.)
  • Special Programs/Groups Offered (e.g. adolescents, jpeople with HIV/Aids, gays and lesbians, etc.)
  • Forms of Payment Accepted
  • Availability of Payment Assistance
  • Special Language Services
