While the World Health Organization strives to eliminate genital mutiliation in underdeveloped countries, who is 'minding the store' in America.
Seems vaginal cosmetic surgery has become an obsession, as women become more aware of how their vagina looks. Bikini waxes, small G-string bikinis, and a spouse's desire are all part of why women want their vagina's to be tighter, their G-spot plumper, and their labia lips smaller.
As their is no medical necessity for this type of surgery, the customer pays, at minimum, $10,000.
Grave concerns are echoed throughout the Plastic Surgery industry, as there are no peer review studies or other indicators about the long term results. Painful sex, incontinence, chronic severe pain, and extensive scarring are all possibilities.
And the pay-off may not occur either, as sexual satisfaction in a woman is much more than just physical structure, but lubrication, and vast emotional components which must be evoked.
So, before our high tech version of genital mutiliation becomes extant among our wealthier Americans, women need to think twice about the consequences.
