One of the chemicals used to make the artificial butter flavoring so commonly used in packaged popcorn has been linked to a respiratory disease called "popcorn lung" in hundreds of people.
The chemical is called diacetyl.
Labor unions and prominent occupational health scientists are calling on federal authorities to set an emergency standard for the chemical in the workplace, and consumers need to be careful as well.
