AIDS Vaccine Production Aided by Supersized Images of the Virus

Important groundbreaking scientific research at Florida State University has produced three-dimensional images of the HIV/AIDS virus, showing protein spikes on its surface that allow it to bind and fuse with human immune cells.

This could boost the development of vaccines that will block infection by targeting and crippling the sticky HIV-1 spike proteins.
