What Causes Vitiligo?

Although the exact cause of Vitiligo is unknown, a combination of genetic, immunologic and neurogenic factors play a role in most cases. For example, sometimes a severe sunburn can trigger vitiligo. In other cases, emotional trauma associated with an accident, death in the family, divorce, etc. can set it in motion.
