At Its Worst, Psoriasis Can Be Painful, Disabling, and Even Disfiguring

Most people with psoriasis experience only mild symptoms, however, other forms of this disease can be severe. Here is a summary of the types of psoriasis and their common symptoms:

  • Plaque psoriasis (most common) Dry, red skin lesions (plaques) covered with silvery scales which usually itch or feel sore. Plaques usually occur on the knees, elbows, trunk, palms, soles, and scalp, but they can show up anywhere on the body, including the soft tissue inside the mouth.
