- Plaque psoriasis (most common) Dry, red skin lesions (plaques) covered with silvery scales which usually itch or feel sore. Plaques usually occur on the knees, elbows, trunk, palms, soles, and scalp, but they can show up anywhere on the body, including the soft tissue inside the mouth.
