Two new treatments in development could dramatically improve the lives of people suffering from muscle-wasting diseases such as muscular dystrophy.
Both involve blocking a protein called myostatin, which slows muscle growth.

Although there is currently no cure for any form of muscular dystrophy, treatment is designed to help prevent or reduce deformities in the joints and the spine and to allow people with MD to remain mobile as long as possible.
