According to the Mayo Clinic, Hydrocephalus can either be present at birth (congenital hydrocephalus), or you can develop it later (acquired hydrocephalus).

Hydrocephalus results when the flow of cerebrospinal fluid is disrupted or when your body doesn't absorb CSF properly.
