Symptoms depend on the type of uterine fibroid. If the fibroid grows to the outside of the uterus, there may be bloating, abdominal pressure, cramping and pain due to pressure on the bowel, bladder, or intestine. Other fibroids cause abnormal bleeding and infertility to occur.
Fibroids are not often cancerous, and effective treatments exist.
