Celiac disease is both easy and difficult to treat.
It is easy in that all you have to do is avoid the thing that makes you sick: gluten.
But the bad news is that treatment can take from months to several years. Who is willing to sacrifice pizza, bread, cookies, pastries, and all those other delicious foods that contain gluten for as long as it takes to cure the disease?
That is the problem, and it is a big one. When people have to give up something important to them, they benefit greatly from support, because it is not easy. But given all the unpleasant complications of untreated celiac disease, it is well worth it.
