We all know that candy, and certain other foods, are not healthy for your teeth. But did you realize that some foods exist which are very healthy for your teeth?
Rebuild Enamel
Any foods which are a good source of calcium will help strengthen enamel. So, drink milk, and eat cheese and yogurt. Check the nutritional label on the foods you purchase, as many foods are fortified with calcium, such as orange juice. The other marvelous aspect of calcium is that it coats your outer enamel temporarily; thus, decreasing the ability of natural acids in your mouth to attack your enamel.

Three years of Medicare data was used to identify the current status of patient safety in American hospitals.
The Institute of Medicine released a landmine study in approximately 2000; countless errors were occurring in hospitals which were leading to patient deaths. Since then, the accrediting body of hospitals has joined forces with others to establish standards of patient safety which hospitals must meet, or risk being placed on a non-accredited status (with all the associated reduction in monies as a consequence). So, one could reasonably expect that safety has improved. Not so!

Screening for cancer has decreased the growth rate of this devastating disease significantly. However, sometimes the results of screening are not positive when they should be, or negative when they shouldn’t be. Is there anything we can do to improve our chances of obtaining accurate results? The leader experts say yes!
Colonoscopies
Death from colon cancer has dropped from 57,000 in 2000 to 53,580 in 2004 according ot the CDC. This decrease is related to the increased screenings for colon cancer.

We all want to think that our doctor is beyond the usual prejudices which accompany the rest of us, and that he or she makes health decisions regarding our care based on practice guidelines. So, it may come as a shock to some individuals with the recently released findings about British physicians. The physicians were cardiologists, general practitioners and gerontologists, whose responses did not differ based on their specialty.
