There are 5 Types of Psoriasis -- a Non-Contagious, Lifelong Skin Disease

Over 7 million people in the US alone have this non-contagious but life-long skin condition.

Psoriasis takes 5 distinct forms:

  • Plaque: This is the most common form of the disease
  • Guttate: Appears as small red spots on the skin
  • Inverse: Occurs in armpits, groin and skin folds
  • Pustular: White blisters surrounded by red skin
  • Erythrodermic: Intense redness over large areas

Psoriasis can also affect various distinct regions of the body and treatment depends on where the disease is located:

  • Scalp psoriasis
  • Genital psoriasis
  • On the face - Around eyes, ears, mouth and nose
  • On the hands and feet
  • Psoriasis of the nails
