The Parkinson's Disease Foundation

The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF), founded in 1957, is a leading national presence in Parkinson's disease research, patient education and public advocacy.

Its Parkinson's Information Service (PINS) is specially designed to provide help to the Parkinson's community with the many questions surrounding the disease. This service includes:

  • Provision of printed and audiovisual educational materials to support patients, families and caregivers who live with Parkinson's.
  • A support service run by trained health professionals and medical staff to answer questions from patients, caregivers, families and the community on any aspect of Parkinson's disease through a telephone advice line, (800) 457-6676, and web-service, "Ask the Expert."
  • Referrals to physicians, support groups, therapists and resource organizations.
