Signs and Symptoms of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease

According to the Mayo Clinic, there are two basic types of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), classic and variant.

Classic CJD and variant CJD share the characteristics listed below, but the characteristics manifest somewhat differently in each form of the disease.

  • Long incubation period
  • Personality changes
  • Problems with balance and coordination
  • Coma and death
